3. Saturday night made pizza for tea

4. Sunday morning took the train to Brighton

5. Sat on the beach with Daniel and ate packed lunch

6. Walked around looking at the beautiful houses

7. Went to look at the Royal Pavilion

8. Made granola for the week ahead.

Homemade beauty

I like to use good quality products made from natural materials but they're so expensive. So I finally did some research online, took myself to whole foods and invested in a variety of oils. When I got home I made a face moisturiser, a body scrub and a body oil. I wrote my 'recipes' down so that I can make alterations next time which reminded me of Margie's dye experiment book .

This is a jasmin flower sugar scrub

and a rosemary body oil

I bought benjoin, jasmin, and orange blossom oils. I'm interested to know, do any of you make your own beauty products? Which oils would you recommend? Any recipes I should try? I'd love to hear.

I'm very excited about my new hobby.

A place for trinkets

The other weekend I made this little 'dish' for trinkets. I figure someone might like to put their jewellery in it on their bedside cabinet. I'll put it in the shop once I've made some more items.

Hope you all had a good weekend. It's been cold here so mostly I stayed in, baked and cooked. Did you do anything fun at the weekend?

The Magic

I've been experimenting with how to paint the magic in the story book. I'm happy with some of the effects so far, like the stamping from before and now with these watery paint splatters. I'm trying to combine all these different ideas and effects, but haven't managed quite yet. Lots more to be done before it's even nearly ready. Wishing you a happy weekend. x x

Magical little girl

At the weekend I wrote the words to a children's book I've been working on. The one about the magical girl. Then I worked on the illustrations. I keep trying things out, putting them aside and starting again. That's ok though. Here I was testing outfits for her. Just ideas quickly painted but I want to share the process of this book as I make it. Back on Friday with a few more pictures. x x

New stitches

Over Christmas I had time to try out some new crafts. I did some knitting (which I never normally do), woodwork (which I never normally do) and I tried this craft which I learnt years ago. I've forgotten the name of it but it involves creating a 3D piece through blanket stitches on a piece of fabric. I made seaweed to attach to shells and over the weekend I started playing around, working out which shells to attach it to.
