Lots of cosies

Now that the final egg cosy has safely arrived in Mexico I can show pictures. I decided to send all my blog/flickr friends a little gift at the start of Spring. I wanted to say thank you for all their support. They really do make a lot of effort to be supportive to one another and greatly appreciate that. I made a little card and an egg cosy for each lady. I like the pictures of them all together so thought I'd share some with you.

Pyjamas!

It's half term this week! I get to have some spare time! That means I get to do some craft and some drawing for the first time in about six weeks! Last night I celebrated by making these little summer pyjamas. I made up the pattern, using a vintage trouser pattern for guidance. For the top I traced a top I already have and altered it to be short and have big arm holes (which are actually too big but let's not discuss that).


I used elastic for the waist and leg holes, a technique I haven't done for many years so I was pleased I tried something'new'.

My favourite part is the bias binding on the neck line and arm holes. It's pink and grey to bring out the pink and grey on the fabric. I hadn't tried this technique before, so I felt very professional!

Flow Magazine

I'd been looking forward to Flow, the Dutch magazine, arriving on my doorstep and yesterday it did. I was asked by a lovely lady called Caroline to answer questions about blogging. Caroline has written a great article about creative blogs (I've scanned in the pages and put them in google translate as I don't read Dutch). It's a really lovely magazine with lovely images, I'm looking forward to scanning and translating some more of the articles.

I especially liked the look of this modern mixed with vintgae photos circus fashion story.
And this how to make a pretty bird cut out.

And of course the article about creative blogging.

Making and Wearing

I may not have yet achieved my dream of making all my own clothes but I have managed to make a pretty dress. I think the last time I made myself a dress was about ten years ago for my eighteenth birthday! The dress was poofyer than it looks in this photo, with lots of gathered fabric at the back. I was really happy with how it fitted and looked, very 'Mad Men' in my oppinion : ) The first picture is of me at the wedding on Saturday and the second is of my living room floor whilst making it. Hope you are all doing good and well. Thanks for all the nice and supportive comments on my last post. x

Working hard

Have I really not blogged for two weeks?!
I'm sorry I haven't been around here lately. I'm working really hard on the last part of my course. Just a month and a half left! (time has gone so fast). This last 'slog' is known for being the toughest part. So I'm concentrating on my studies and I'll try to pop in as often as possible to share any drawings I manage to do.
